ELIGIBILITY FOR B. ARCH.
Passed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, Or Passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject. In addition to these eligibility criteria, the candidate should qualify an aptitude test in Architecture conducted by NTA (i.e. JEE) or “NATA” conducted by Council of Architecture.

BACKGROUND

Bachelor of Architecture is a five year full time degree course offered by College of Architecture, MLSU-COA.

The programme is aimed to establish a center of excellence for architecture education. It facilitates multidisciplinary research to deal with the complexities of human settlements as a whole. Through this programme we will constantly encourage students to explore and innovate while urging them to engage in cross- disciplinary thinking. Along with studio-based learning and skill enhancement courses, research is an integral part of the curriculum. Students will be involved in practical projects and will start making their presence felt within the architectural fraternity.

B. ARCH. COURSE:

Bachelor of Architecture degree course prepares the students for professional practice in the field of architecture. Being an undergraduate programme, it has ample scope, providing students the exposure to a variety of interests in this field and assisting them to discover their own directions for future development. The architecture course shall be of minimum duration of 5 academic years.

The architecture course will be conducted in two stages-
Stage 1 : The first 3 academic years of the course shall be a basic standard course.
Stage 2: The last 2 academic years towards practical approach and professional practice.

• Students will be registered with Council of Architecture to practice as an Architect.
• The field of Architecture is so diverse and offers many choices for employment.
• Architects can secure jobs in the Public sector Including the Town Planning Department, UDH, RIICO, PWD, National and local urban bodies and also practice their own architectural firm or can work with provate firms.
• The Real Estate offers many opportunities for Architects to be the part of their in-house architectural team.
• Additionaly, one can also work with a non-profit organisation like INTACH or as a researcher with the Urban Design Research Institute.
• Furthermore, the graduates can also specialise in any aspect of the Architectural field like, Project Management, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Digital Architecture, Sustainable Architecture, Conservation Architecture, Habitate Design, Regional Planning, Architectural Journalism, etc. by pursuing a Master’s Degree or by pursuing Research.
